It was a day like any other in the world, the sun was rising on the horizon, the wind blew over the erath, the weather was cool and kind of windy. something normal for a late February's morning. everything was the same, but by the tiny fact that more than 90% of the world's population wasn't alive anymore, they were dead walkers roaming the world, looking for living tissue to bite and eat.
the other less than 10% were survivers, people trying to live. maybe not in their homes like before this mess, but at least live, survive day by day. One of those survivers was Sakura Jin Lee, she was a sweet nice girl, but this new life had turned her into a hard cold girl.
She cared only about the people that now is like her family, the group that survives with her. She doesn't know if her brother is alive or not, but she really hopes he is. But while she finds him, she is with the group of a woman called Emmy. She trusts her and fights for her.
"another cool morning..." Sakura said when she opened her eyes inside her tent, she got up and got out, she looked around and everything seemed just fine, some people were already doing some stuff. Sakura walked to where they held up the water and grabbed just a small cubet of it, then walked back to her tent. She got in and there she used a towell to clean her up. she missed taking a good shower or bath, but now those things were a luxure they couldn't afford.
She changed clothes, placed her sword on her back and then walked out again, maybe she could help with the breakfast. why did she carried a sword? Well, her father was a martial arts instructor and he taught her brother and herself how to defend themselves and also ow to use three weapons, arrows and bow, swords and spear. but Sakura had always been good with the sword, so she always took hers, a gift from her father, with her. Who was going to tell her that she would really need it someday to save her life?
"Good morning... can I help?" she asked some people who were already trying to make a good fireplace. **I hope this is ok!! you decide if it's before or after jeremy's leaving**

OOC: Before.. But perhaps Jeremy can return during this post? Or not. Leaving it open so that others can join!)) Another day. Another chance to lose it all. That's what every day was and they all damn well knew it. Occasionally Emmy found herself wondering if they hadn't lost everything already. That was the pessimist in her. But when one was assaulted with death, struggle, and fights every single day you began to lose sight of what little positive things remained. It was a fight in itself to remember why one had to fight to stick around other than out of habit and survivial. Animalistic fight or flight. No. Not just that. There was more. There were the people who counted on her... One in particular. 'No. Don't fool yourself. He could never.. I could never.. We could never... Thoughts crushed her back into the twisted reality that they all existed in nowadays which she shooed away by tossing some loose kindling into a pile on the grass. It was early sure, they had all gotten into the habit of rising at such an hour, but upon waking up most desired to keep busy. Today's first act consisted of gathering wood and trying to make a makeshift fireplace. It wasn't something Emmy had put out there, one of the few ideas that had not come from her big mouth, but the group appointed second or third in command (not that she wanted to be either) helped never the less though relatively quiet for the most part. The others who were helping were chit chatting, in particular the other ladies, but Emmy on this morning chose the silent act going about picking up sticks and bark where she could get it. Her pile was growing and she showed no sign of stopping though she wasn't necessarily being a maniac about the whole act. No doubt she was torturing herself inwardly though about a multitude of things though she always harbored on losing her best friend. He was long gone now and she was just now coming to terms with what everyone else told her long ago: He was dead.. Or worse.. Dead and walking. Sakura's voice broke herself from her thoughts and Emmy found herself momentarily looking up from her work. No one else seemed keen on answering the poor girl, going about their own business or perhaps just being rude, and protective Emmy just couldn't let that happen. She took the problems of others all on her back, stacking and stacking them until her body might collapse from the weight of all the pressure. "I could use some help over here if you get horribly bored." Emmy offered with a shrug though she wasn't exactly telling the truth she just didn't want Sakura to feel useless and stand idly by. Emmy hated that herself and she was willing to bet Sakura felt the same way. Emmy had gotten to know the Asian girl back when she had first joined the group with her and Jeremy coming from New York City. Sure now the groups had merged into one but some people still felt loyalty to their original gangs. Deep down Emmy even had this softeness even though she had verbally relinquished all leadership and decisions onto Rick Grimes. "I mean that sword looks like it'd come in handy." She offered placing her hands on her hips. "Care to swing it around some?"

Sakura looked around for a moment and then she heard a friendly voice, she looked at it's direction and found her frind and leader , Emmy. She knew Emmy had told them she wasn't their leader, that she was just a common woman, but for Sakura and other from the original group, Emmy and jeremy were their leaders, now only emmy... who knows where was jeremy by then.
"Perfect!" she said when Emmy accepted some help from her. she walked closer and looked at emmy's face, she looked tired, sad, worried. "Emmy... is everything ok?" she knew it was a stupid question, she thought that the first time someone in the group asked her so just after her brother got lost, back in the beginning of this mess. but she also knew it was the human way to ask for a friends sake and for Sakura, Emmy was her friend.
then emmy mentioned Sakura's sword, Sakura smiled slightly and then thought for a second, then looking at the thin branches all around then she smiled a bit more. "sure, why not" she took it out and handled it as if the sword was an extension of her hand, it moved gentle and delicate in Sakura's hand. She swung it and each time it hit the ground it cut a branch cleanly.
She remembered a time when she was with her brother, they were camping, her brother loved to do it. then she smiled at emmy and looked at her. "so... where do we take this ones?" she talked about the wood.
Not far from there, some nasty sounds were heard, steps but not common rythmis, but the ones that you know that brought death with them. Walkers were near and for sure they had smelled the ones in the camp.

Emmy could only stand there before Sakura with as much warmth as she could muster which, given the circumstances, was a very serious expression and even more serious chocolate brown eyes. Emmy had once been a comedy writer, a joker, able to sit around the table with a group of boys and pitch ideas, laugh. Nowadays her skills had been dwindled down to creative ways to survive, map reading, being a listening ear to the other survivors who seemed to like that. She wasn't exactly the huggy type. Honestly she never had been.
Sakura had been one from Emmy's original group: The one that had come to Georgia all the way from New York City. Not an easy trek at all. Emmy couldn't recall when and where they had picked up Sakura, if it had been in the city or one of the states following, but she had become part of the backbone of the original team, strong enough to withstand all that they had been through to get to this point... Whatever it was.
Since joining the other group led by Rick Grimes in Georgia Emmy made it a big point to relinquish all leadership onto Rick. She made sure to do it in front of everyone so that there would be no confusion and no one would come to her anymore with any of their problems. Of course it wasn't that easy and not only did part of her original group still see her as a leadership figure but some of the new people had also followed suit. Not a perfect scenario by any means but this wasn't to say that when Rick needed an opinion, on rare occasion, that he didn't ask her so it was only normal for people like Sakura to fall into one of the few old habits that remained.
"Wouldn't say perfect but eh... It's something to do." Emmy offered with a little shrug before turning away and wiping at her brow with the top of her arm. Sakura was quick, as always, to close the distance between them not to mention invading all sorts of personal space as she led a makeshift inspection on the young woman. "What?" Emmy blinked, and straightened before regaining her grasp on the situation. "Oh yeah. Yeah. Fine. Why?" She managed to lie vehemently before bending down to pretend that she was stacking some logs that had already found their place.
"You can toss the stuff over here. That's fine. Long as we can keep it dry until we need it." Watching Sakura swing Emmy proceeded to stare ahead at nothing in particular but only after admiring the other young woman's sword work. "Don't you ever get bored using the same thing every single-" Her words were cut short by the unmistakenable sounds of approaching walkers.
As quick as Sakura had picked up on it Emmy had found her way to her feet gun already drawn and aimed outward. "Someone warn the camp." Her brow furrowed as she peered into nothing, awaiting the arrival of whatever was to come.

Sakura looked at Emmy when she said she was fine, Emmy was one of the best performancers that she had ever met, but yet, she had seen her, she had noticed how, when she was alone, she tended to be sad, quiet... more than usual. But she wasn't going to invade her boarders even more, if Emmy would like to tell her something about her mood, she would do it by herself. "Just asking, lately the groups' mood had been falling and it's never a good sign"
Sakura grabbed the fresh cut sticks and put them where Emmy suggested her to do it. She got straight and cleaned the dirt from her hands and smiled, thinking about her question, her sword was by that moment already part of her own body, she knew how to protect the ones she loved with it and that was enough for her, but before she could answer to her question she heard the steps too, she looked at Emmy and then around, she saw the first of those things walking into the camp. "I'll try to stop it..."
A small kid ran to tell Rick about the walkers, Sakura couldn't learn his name yet, but she thought he was Rick's kid. She walked closer to the walker, it had been a tall man, maybe a baseball player or a coach... he was still wearing the rags of what had been his uniform. Sakura approached and twisted her body a bit, then when the walker looked at her and opened his mouth to bite her, she swang her sword and cut off his head.
Behind him there were other 3 at least, Sakura frowned and bit her lower lip, she only expected no one from the camp shoot at them, she could handle this ones. She moved again in the same graceful way, spin on her toes and then cut the head of the one closer to her, then swang her sword up and the third was headless, finally she turned and stabbed the 4th one right on the head. She breathed deeply and smiled to herself, but she didn't realize there were other two coming from behind her.
