Character Name: Eve Evans
Age: 28
Hometown: New York
Current Location: Undisclosed Location in New York
Bio: Eve has no concept of family, but she was never a social creature to begin with, never one of those team players—which is a huge issue when the world is going to hell. Even when all the odds are against her, she will do what she deems necessary to survive against the odds. If there’s anyone to compare her to, it would be the guy from the episode of the twilight zone who only ever wanted more time – and did, at a cost. As long as she keeps busy, she rarely notices the lack of life that surrounds her on a daily basis. To her, this is an opportunity to do all the things she wanted to do but never could. Eve has compiled a mass of things to surround her daily routine, the better to keep herself busy and distracted from the rest of the world. That air is always about her it seems – not in touch with reality –not in a crazy way though, just, in her own world. No real concept of time or stress, or even her own mortality when it comes down to it. Nothing seems to ruffle the feathers of this technology guru, not even when walkers close in with little hope of escape. Perhaps the shock of the virus hasn’t quite settled into her core yet, who knows? Maybe, just for now, she’s enjoying a life without much consequence.
As a child, she was moved from foster home to foster home until she developed into late adolescence and went off on her own. Eve made few friends, moved from one haunt to the next and became used to not staying in one place for too long. Now that the world is in the state it is, she’s holed up like a rat in a nest with stockpiles of randomly assorted items. It’s probably one of the few things that still define her as a woman – saving even the most useless things for that single time you may end up needing it. To her, the world has changed little. She was used to this kind of life (moving around, generally living from one meal to the next) for a while. Eve is as close to a professional liar as one can get, used to conning people into what she needs or wants when the situation comes down to it. In fact, she’s been known to snatch credit card numbers and generally get around the law with quiet ease. Her forte lies with technology and mechanics, able to assemble and reuse things with extreme resourcefulness.
Likes:
+ Modern Technology: Whether it is computers, or some other tech gadget, the girl likes anything she can get her hands on. This also includes the capabilities of dismantling and reassembling things to reform them into other uses, as well as fast cars. The faster, the better, she has little patience.
+ Physics/Science: In short, she enjoys learning. Not good at math, but highly skilled with logic and other functions involving scientific exploration.
+ Keeping Busy: Eve absolutely hates to be bored, and she gets bored easily because of her high intelligence level. Even normal activities less than stimulate her interest.
+ Truth: Absolutely despises when people beat around the bush about their objectives. Eve would prefer if the person came right out with what they wanted versus trying to bribe her (though this works provided the bribe is good)
Dislikes:
- Others: she is perfectly content to kill the walkers; she never was a people person to start off with. Dislikes children the most, but won’t admit she has a soft spot when it comes to potentially protecting them regardless.
- Drama: she has little tolerance for it, finding it a huge waste of time as well as pointless overall. Eve is more of a ‘to each their own’ type, but can definitely be confrontational when provoked.
- Cooking: Or most anything traditionally viewed as female in nature. (Though she does occasionally break this rule)
- Weakness: in her eyes, this can come in several forms. It can be emotional weakness, letting it compromise rational thinking, or physical weakness (which she herself often is capable of) and lastly being dim-witted or dense. Even not going to school is no excuse for not being a well read, informed person.
Strengths:
+ Gadgets: Learns new technology within seconds, a very high learning curve when it comes to all thinks geek-related.
+ Athletic: This does little against walkers, but much better against other humans. At the same time, this means she makes one hell of a runner, and beats most in the competition of agility. Not the strongest, which is her downfall, but she can shoot right between the eyes with most weapons.
+ Intelligence: Absorbs information like a sponge, but never got a degree or went past a few college courses. Eve is a very well rounded person when it comes to reading, basic knowledge, book smarts and even more so: street smarts. The downside is her ability to retain the information in her long term memory.
+ Stress: Eve really has no concept of it, always handles well under bad situations and is able to think clearly unlike most. The world going to hell hasn’t really affected her personality much.
Weaknesses:
- Blood & Guts: A big problem, considering all that’s happened. Eve has a preferred method of getting rid of walkers, and that involves a crossbow. Good in both ranged, and close distance, as well as silent – versus the use of a gun. Don’t get her wrong, she comes prepared and packing though.
- Social Graces: has little to none. Eve is quite blunt about what she wants, how she wants it, and can often come off as arrogant when she doesn’t mean to be. She sees little need for social courtesies with the world in its current state, and has practically no patience either.
- Loner: Most of the time she tends to hoof things alone, and is a bit hard headed when it comes to being a team player. She has managed fine in the past looking out for herself, and only herself, and sees little harm in continuing even when the world has gone to hell.
- True Colors: Will rarely show them, learning to keep her distance from those she calls potential friends either from fear of losing them, or for fear of betrayal. Eve finds it more useful to keep potential enemies closer. (Just not the walkers!)
Anything Else? I get to accept my own bio, yes? Haha.
Roleplay Sample: Oh c'mon, you really still need that, after all this time? ;D
